The 24-year-old first announced on Sept. 29 that she would need to have a procedure on her neck after being out of action since June. It continued what has been a rough year for the two-time Divas champion.

While Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Bayley continue to benefit from the renewed emphasis on women's wrestling, Paige had fallen out of the spotlight a bit, even before her injury. Then came her two suspensions for violations of WWE's wellness policy.

The second suspension went into effect on Oct. 10, but it may not matter depending on how quickly she recovers from her surgery.

Given her age, there's plenty of time for Paige to get her WWE career back on track. The brand extension has thinned the talent pool in the women's division as well, so she'll have a better opportunity to play a prominent role on Raw when she's healthy enough to return.
