Saints Surprise 14-Year-Old Superfan with Honorary Contract

The New Orleans Saints signed 14-year-old superfan Jarrius Robertson during Tuesday morning's Good Morning America.

Robertson has biliary atresia, a chronic liver disease that affects his physical growth. He has spent years in and out of hospitals and is waiting on a second liver transplant.

He's also an avid Saints fan who has attended practices and games. He serves as a stern but fair motivator who offers blunt assessments to the pros. 

Appearing on ABC's morning show, Robertson impersonated Drew Brees, teasing the quarterback's tendency to lick his hands before every snap.

The passer later commended the team's newest addition, per ABC News' Eliza Murphy:

Jarrius has been to about four or five practices and every time he comes out I get some type of coaching point. He even sent me a selfie video there from New York telling us that we need to quit making these games so close. We need to be putting a few more points between the end of the game so we don’t make it so scary.

We love having Jarrius out here. He’s such an inspirational young man. His strength, his attitude, and he’s welcome out here anytime. We love him.

Head coach Sean Payton, appearing alongside Brees and defensive end Cameron Jordan, extended Robertson an offer to work as the team's social media coordinator.

"You don't have to tell me twice!" Robertson said upon quickly signing.
