Andrew GouldOct 18, 2016

Three of Jose Fernandez's former teammates paid tribute to the fallen Miami Marlins pitcher with a mural in Rio de Janeiro.

On September 25, Fernandez died at age 24 in a boating accident.

To show his respects, Giancarlo Stanton posted a photo of graffiti art painted in Brazil alongside Marlins teammate A.J. Ramos and former Marlins pitcher Ricky Nolasco, who plays for the Los Angeles Angels.

The mural reads "Nino," an affectionate referent, alongside Fernandez's No. 16 and the Cuban flag. A bat hovers above with the word "saudades," a Portuguese equivalent to "miss you."

Stanton and Ramos each shared videos of the process on Twitter:

The water background also serves as a fitting touch to commemorate Fernandez, whom his teammates and fans will never forget.
