Chelsea Transfer News: Latest Rumours on N'Golo Kante and Boubacar Kamara
N'Golo Kante won't be seeing out the remainder of his playing days at Chelsea, according to the manager who sold his old charge to former club Leicester City. Elsewhere, the Blues are reportedly examining Marseille youngster Boubacar Kamara.
Caen manager Patrice Garande acquired Kante from Boulogne in 2013 before selling him to the Foxes in 2015, but he told ESPN FC (h/t the Sun's Matt Heath-Smith) his former charge will move on to bigger things one day:
"He was in Ligue 2, then Ligue 1. He goes to England with Leicester, they win the Premier League. Then he goes to Chelsea, and after that he'll go to a very, very big European club, that's for sure.
I think from the moment N'Golo came to us in Ligue 2 he had a career plan but without trying to go too quickly. He had his feet on the ground, and that is why he did two seasons with us, and then left. It's he who decides.
I thought Leicester was a good choice and one that suited him, because in his mind going to England in a club like that was a step towards going even higher.

It wasn't long ago Chelsea were crowned 2014-15 Premier League champions and might have been considered among that elite European bracket, but a difficult start to this season has seeded doubt in their quality.
Kante's constant progression was perhaps validated by his man-of-the-match display in Chelsea's 3-0 win over old club Leicester on Saturday, and Sky Sports Statto put that display into numbers:
The 25-year-old was voted into last season's Professional Footballers' Association Premier League Team of the Year, and Garande went on to outline, "it's always him who makes the decisions."
Nizaar Kinsella also provided quotes from a dejected Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri after Saturday's defeat, and the Italian was forced to admit he missed the presence of his lost enforcer:
Kante is already proving himself to be an important component in west London, although the tactics of manager Antonio Conte could come to decide just how successful the France international goes on to become.
Bleacher Report UK recently suggested as much after Kante experienced an up-and-down start to the 2016-17 campaign due in large part to the fact he's been asked to take on an unfamiliar role:
Meanwhile, Marseille teenager Kamara is said to be attracting Chelsea interest, per the Sun (h/t Bruce Archer of the Daily Express), and the Blues are eager to land his signature before Marseille can agree a new contract.
FourFourTwo's Andrew Gibney was quick to point out an important factor in the 16-year-old's future, considering he's yet to sign professional terms with his current club, but interest is spiralling:
Kamara has been tipped as a potential successor to Chelsea stalwart John Terry, and it was well-known Conte was seeking reinforcements at centre-back over the summer transfer window.
The defender has already made an appearance for the France under-18 team, and Chelsea could be getting their hands on one of Ligue 1's hottest prospects if they manage to win the race for Kamara.
