Richard Jefferson Constantly Reminds Luke Walton That Warriors Blew NBA Finals

Andrew GouldOct 13, 2016

The living embodiment of annoying people on social media, Richard Jefferson won't stop talking about the time the Golden State Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals.

Of course, the Cleveland Cavaliers veteran actually participated in the series. He has since spent the offseason making sure former Warriors assistant coach Luke Walton doesn't forget the heartbreaking finish.

During an appearance on the Open Run podcast, the new Los Angeles Lakers head coach said he received constant reminders from his former Arizona Wildcats teammate throughout the offseason.

"All summer long, I've had to hear from Richard," Walton said. "Any time we are doing anything competitive and his team is losing, he will be like, 'Hey guys, I've been down way worse than this and won. So don't worry about it.' That's his go-to line all summer."

Don't feel too bad for Walton. He can remember that the Cavs blew a 2-1 lead in the 2015 NBA Finals. The 36-year-old also has two more rings from his playing days with the Lakers.

If Cleveland upends Golden State for another title this season, Jefferson will need to find someone else to mock. Perhaps fellow Arizona alum Andre Iguodala.
