Golden State Warriors guard and two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry probably didn't expect to lose a shooting contest on the golf course Wednesday afternoon. 

As Extra Spin staffers explained, Curry and professional golfer Harold Varner III were playing in the same group at the Safeway Open when the two came upon a basketball hoop on the side of a green. Curry and Varner began a long-distance shooting contest, and Varner was the first man to drain an attempt. Fans attending the event, as well as the three-point specialist, cheered after Varner's shot hit nothing but net. 

Curry was able to joke about things afterward. "If I got him on the court, I'd like my chances," he said.
