2009 MLB Playoff Predictions
It's that time of year again, time for the 2009 MLB playoffs. The Playoffs begin Wendsday with the division series. I know, the final team that makes the playoffs will not be decided until tomorrow night, but I am still going to make my predictions for the postseason results. I am a little dissapointed that my team, the Rays, did not make it this year, but I will still watch the only baseball left. So, now on with my predictions.
Play-in Game: Tigers @ Twins:
I have the Twins pulling this game out. They are the hotter team, have home field advantage, and are facing a rookie pitcher in Rick Porcello. He has been good this year, but he hasn't proven himself under this much pressure.

10 Scorching MLB Takes 🌶️

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
ALDS- Twins vs. Yankees: Yankees win in 4
The Yankees have home field advantage in this series and I see them pulling it out in 4 games. The Twins getting one game may be generous, but we will see.
ALDS- Red Sox vs. Angels: Angels win in 5
This could be one of the most entertaining series' of all the playoffs. I have the Angels pulling it out. They didn't get much contention in the regular season for that top spot in the AL West, but they are the better team. I think this will be a nail-bitting series, and it will be great to watch.
NLDS- Cardinals vs. Dodgers: Cardinals win in 5
This will be another entertaining series. The Dodgers will not have an easy go of it this year, like they did last year when they swept the Cubs. The Cardinals may not have home field advantage, but I still think they have the edge. They have a great starting rotation and one of the best lineups in the league. The Dodgers have a good lineup and Joe Torre at the helm, but their rotation has been shaky at best.
NLDS- Rockies vs. Phillies: Phillies in 3
The Rockies have mad another miracle run, but they don't have the team to make it against the World Champs. The Phillies have a good team once again and will get by the Rockies without breaking a sweat.
ALCS- Angels vs Yankees: Yankees in 6
I may be a little generous to the Angels here, but they still have a good team. They are down against the billion dollar franchise with the Yankees having home field advantage, and the best lineup in baseball will get by the Angels and make it to another World Series.
NLCS- Cardinals vs. Phillies: Cardinals in 7
The World Champs have almost the same team they had last year, but the Cardinals have by far the best team in the NL right now, so they will pull it out. They will have it tough only having 3 games at Busch Stadium, but they can do it with Chris Carpenter, Adam Wainwright and Albert Pujols carrying them past.
World Series- Cardinals vs. Yankees: Cardinals in 7
I have the Cardinals taking the World Series this year. They have a better rotation and just as good a lineup, so they stand a good chance. I may be showing my bias against the Yankees, but the Cardinals have a darn good team.
