Lynch Tweets Photo from Hospital
Sunday, Oct. 9
WWE didn't specify the nature of Lynch's injury. The champion posted a photo of herself lying on a hospital bed:
WWE shared a replay of McMahon breaking the news to Bliss about Lynch's injury:
When speaking with Bliss, SmackDown Live general manager Daniel Bryan announced she'll get her title shot against Lynch during a taped edition of SmackDown Live on Nov. 8.
Based on that announcement, Lynch's injury may not be too serious. If the Irish Lass Kicker had been ruled out for a lengthy amount of time, then the company likely would've had her surrender the women's title. Finn Balor had to give up the WWE Universal Championship after dislocating his shoulder.
SmackDown Live has a relatively thin talent pool of women's wrestlers, even with the full complement of their stars. Taking Lynch out of the mix will exacerbate the problem. As long as she makes a quick recovery, though, the women's division won't be hit too hard, though, in the short term.
