New York Mets Rookies Dress in 'A League of Their Own' Uniforms
The New York Mets can clinch a spot in the National League Wild Card Game by beating the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday afternoon. In order to stay sharp, the veterans sent the rookies on a morning coffee run.
Perhaps they were hoping to inspire the newcomers, who set out in garb honoring A League of Their Own.
Starting pitcher Robert Gsellman is one of the neophytes crossing the street with cups of caffeinated beverages. One would think his teammates would have instead brought him a treat the morning after he allowed one run over six strong innings and earned the win.
The rookies boarded the team bus sporting the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League uniforms. Errand duty is never fun, but of course, they're not allowed to cry about it.
