Manchester United Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Bastian Schweinsteiger, More
MLS boss Don Barber and FC Dallas president Dan Hunt have weighed in on the rumours linking Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger with a move to the United States.
The veteran has been frozen out at Old Trafford and has yet to play a single minute for the Red Devils this season.
As shared by Rob Dawson of the Manchester Evening News, he hasn't been training with the senior side:

Rumours he could be on his way to MLS have been circling for some time now, and speaking to Eurosport (h/t Daily Star's Rhys Turrell), Barber said he would be a welcome addition to his league: “Should Schweinsteiger continue his unique career, we would appreciate it if he thinks about the MLS. Bastian can be a leader for the many young talents."
FC Dallas president Hunt even dropped a hint his club would be interested in an interview with SPOX (h/t Daily Express' Uche Amako):
"He is an incredible player. I always admired him and the success that his teams had.
That is no coincidence, he is a winner.
[…] That is difficult to predict. At the moment we only have space for one designated player and we wanted to fill this with a striker.
Maybe it changes, we will see.

The 32-year-old moved to the Premier League from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2015 and was expected to become a key player under former United manager Louis van Gaal. Injuries and poor form plagued him throughout the season, however, and he soon became something of an afterthought.
Current manager Jose Mourinho replaced Van Gaal during the summer and didn't give any indications Schweinsteiger would be part of his plans. He brought in Paul Pogba from Juventus to be his new ace midfielder and hasn't called on Schweinsteiger once.
Per Brooks Peck of the Dirty Tackle, his treatment of the former German international has been harsh:
Mourinho made it clear Schweinsteiger was better off finding a new club during the summer, per the Press Association (via the Guardian). The German and his hefty wages stayed put, however.
A move to MLS seems inevitable, with plenty of other ageing stars such as Andrea Pirlo and Frank Lampard already plying their trade in the U.S. MLS clubs still pay top wages to older players who may have lost a step, understanding their brand and name recognition is a crucial part of their valuation.
Elsewhere, the agent of Dynamo Kyiv winger Andriy Yarmolenko joked about negotiating with Mourinho for his client and posted a photo with the United boss following the team's win over Zorya in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.
Vadim Shablii, who represents Yarmolenko, took to Instagram to share the photo:
According to Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News, the caption reads: “We had to negotiate for Yarmol.”
The Ukrainian international has long been linked with a Premier League switch and hasn't made a secret of his desire to move to England. Per Luckhurst, he told reporters he would complete a transfer to the Premier League in 2016, and his agent was spotted at Everton's Goodison Park.
Yarmolenko has been touted as a hidden gem, thanks to his incredible scoring record in Ukraine and for the national team. His raw speed and great instincts make him a great winger, and it only seems a matter of time before he's rewarded with a move to a big club.
