Liverpool Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Niklas Sule and Marcelo Brozovic
Liverpool will reportedly face competition from bitter rivals Everton in their pursuit of Hoffenheim centre-back Niklas Sule.
According to Bild (h/t Joe Rimmer of the Liverpool Echo), the Toffees have joined a long list of clubs interested in the defender, including Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur.
As Rimmer noted, the Reds have also been linked with the 21-year-old, who has emerged as one of the rising stars of the Bundesliga.

The youngster stands at 6'5", and his broad frame makes for an impressive physical specimen. It's the kind of physique that looks more than capable of coping with the rigours of English football.

Sule is an exceptional ball-winner known for his tackling ability. According to Squawka, in four Bundesliga games this season, he has won 11 tackles from 14 attempts, as well as six headed duels, while making eight interceptions.
He's also an accomplished passer of the ball—he's maintained an average of 90 per cent accuracy and created two chances.

Here's a selection of his highlights with the German outfit:
Joel Matip has been an excellent addition to the Reds' defence, but there's still plenty of room for improvement. Sule could help in that regard, and he's only likely to get better as he becomes more experienced.
While Everton may not be as much of a threat to Liverpool as some of the more illustrious teams interested, it will prove a real coup for whichever club pulls off a deal when he inevitably makes the step up to a bigger club.
Meanwhile, reported Liverpool target Marcelo Brozovic has been handed a lifeline at Inter Milan after it appeared he would be set to leave the club.

According to Calciomercato, Inter boss Frank de Boer said Brozovic could feature against Roma on Sunday: "Yes he could be, he will be reinstated little by little."
Per Inter, he added:
The Reds scouted the midfielder in the summer, per Sky Italia (h/t Aaron Flanagan of the Mirror). According to Calciomercato's Lorenzo Bettoni, Brozovic and De Boer had a serious falling out earlier in the month, and it looked as if it would result in an exit from Inter.
The midfielder racked up seven goals and five assists last season and is a strong all-rounder thanks to his impressive passing, contributions in the final third and defensive work rate.
It seems the 23-year-old has the opportunity to mend his relationship with De Boer and resume his career at the San Siro—if he decides to take it, the Reds may have to look elsewhere.
