St. Louis Cardinals Beat Cincinnati Reds Via Controversial Walk-Off
The St. Louis Cardinals notched an important, yet controversial, 4-3 victory over the Cincinnati Reds at Busch Stadium on Thursday night.
With the game tied 3-3 and Matt Carpenter standing on first, representing the winning run in the bottom of the ninth, St. Louis catcher Yadier Molina smashed a line drive to left field. The ball hopped off the wall, and Carpenter scored the game-winning run.
It now appears, however, the run shouldn't have counted.
