The New York Yankees honored Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz during a ceremony before Thursday's game at Yankee Stadium.

Former Yankees closer Mariano Rivera, MLB's all-time saves leader, met Ortiz at home plate for one last embrace before Big Papi retires following the 2016 season.

Rivera then helped Ortiz unveil an oil painting that shows the 40-year-old hitter standing at home plate and tipping his cap to fans at Yankee Stadium.
