Solomon to Miss Week 5
Thursday, Sept. 29
On Thursday, ESPN.com's Brett McMurphy reported Solomon will miss his fourth straight game Saturday against the UCLA Bruins.
The three-year starter has already missed more games in 2016 than he missed in 2014 and 2015 combined.
Last season, Solomon sat out for a pair of games after suffering two concussions, though that was the only game action he missed through his freshman and sophomore seasons.
Solomon has appeared in just one game this year, the season opener against BYU. He completed 20 of 30 passes for 213 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in Arizona's 18-16 loss.
It was an uncharacteristic performance for one of the most prolific passers in Arizona history:
| Stat | Amount | All-Time Program Rank |
| Completions | 538 | 4th |
| Completion Percentage* | 59.8% | 6th |
| Yards | 6,661 | 4th |
| Touchdowns | 48 | 3rd |
| Interceptions | 16 | T-21st |
*Minimum 100 pass attempts
He led the Wildcats to a pair of bowl appearances, including a win at the New Mexico Bowl last season, while helping the program reach a ranking as high as No. 8 in 2014.
In Solomon's absence, sophomore quarterback Brandon Dawkins has taken control under center, leading Arizona to a 2-1 record over its last three games.
As a dual threat, Dawkins has passed for 625 yards, three touchdowns and one interception while leading the Wildcats with 391 rushing yards and seven scores.
His lone loss came against a Washington team that ranks 10th in the country with a defense that has allowed just 14.5 points per game, the 15th-best mark in the FBS.
Against a UCLA defense that's allowing almost 350 yards per game this season, the Wildcats will hope Dawkins is on his game as they try to get back into the winning column Saturday.
