Heckler Makes Putt, Wins $100 from Justin Rose at Ryder Cup Practice

Athletes are usually trained to ignore hecklers, but Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson took a different approach that blew up in their faces.

During Thursday's Ryder Cup practice rounds, European golfers Stenson and Rory McIlroy struggled to make a putt. When a fan admonished them, Stenson invited him on to the Hazeltine course to show them how it's done.

Rose upped the ante, slapping $100 on the grass. To the crowd's delight, he embarrassed the professionals by sinking the shot.

Brian Murphy of the Pioneer Press identified the American fan, who received congratulations from the European pros:

Apparently yelling at someone who's trying to do his job pays. Because of his heckling, Johnson is now richer with national notoriety.
