Aledmys Diaz Honors Jose Fernandez with Wristband, Hits Grand Slam

St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Aledmys Diaz rejoined his club Tuesday after attending the memorial for late Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez, Diaz's childhood friend. Diaz paid tribute to Fernandez with a wristband baring the pitcher's No. 16 and one special swing of the bat.
The Cardinals were trailing the Cincinnati Reds 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning at Busch Stadium when Diaz made his way to the plate with the bases loaded. Diaz then blasted a 2-1 pitch over the left-center field wall for a grand slam that put the Cardinals up 5-2.
Jim Hayes of Fox Sports Midwest spoke about Diaz's return to the lineup before the top of the second inning:
