Anthony Davis Continues Growth Spurt, Now Stands at 6'11"
September 26, 2016
In health class, young boys were taught they will stop growing once they reach their early 20s. For 23-year-old New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis, he hasn't stopped one bit.
Much has been said about his monster growth spurt back when he was in high school, but it's rare to see a player like Davis, who's already been in the NBA for four seasons, continue to grow.
Via Justin Verrier of ESPN.com, Davis explained how he doesn't like the extra growth at this stage of his career to the Pelicans' in-house podcast, Black & Blue Report:
They measured us like a week and a half ago and they said I was 6-11, which I don't want to be. I think 6-10 is like the perfect height for me. It just doesn't sound right; 6-10 sounds perfect to me. 6-11, 7 feet. ... I don't like it.
Davis may not like being taller, but he's the center of attention in New Orleans for a reason. Maybe with the added height, Davis will dominate even more on the court, where he averaged 24.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game last season.
