Kent Perkins Suspended by Texas After Arrest for DWI
Texas Longhorns offensive lineman Kent Perkins was arrested on the morning of Sept. 23 and charged with DWI, according to the Austin American-Statesman's Mark D. Wilson.
The Dallas Morning News' Chuck Carlton relayed a statement from head coach Charlie Strong regarding Perkins' arrest:
On Monday, Perkins was suspended for the Oklahoma State game, per Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports.
Anwar Richardson of Rivals.com passed along Perkins' mugshot:
Perkins has played both right guard and right tackle during his time in Austin, but he was recently shifted over to left guard, according to the Dallas Morning News' Chris Siron.
All told, Perkins has started 26 games over the course of his career. He's played in two of the Longhorns' three games this season after he was forced to miss the team's 41-7 win over UTEP on Sept. 10.
Texas had a bye in Week 4 and travels to Boone Pickens Stadium for a meeting with the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Oct. 1.
