WWE Hell In A Cell PPV Results: Undertaker, Randy Orton Both Win Titles
The Undertaker won the World title for the third time and Randy Orton defeated John Cena for the WWE title Sunday at WWE's Hell In A Cell ppv Sunday night in Newark, NJ.
As many expected, Undertaker beat CM Punk for the gold, his seventh overall WWE/World title reign. The match - contested inside the Cell - opened the show and ended when Undertaker chokeslammed and tombstone piledrove Punk for the win, following a chair shot to his face.
In the WWE title match, Randy Orton defeated Cena for his fifth WWE title reign (sixth WWE/World title overall) in the night's second Cell match. Cena had just won the belt back from Orton at last month's Breaking Point ppv, so we are back to short title reigns again. Yeah. Finish came when Orton choked out Cena while in the ropes and after Orton untied him, he hit the Punt of Doom for the win.
In the main event of the night, DX defeated Legacy, also in the Cell. The match started with Legacy attacking DX as they got to the ring. The two teams did a huge brawl outside and around the ring for about 10 minutes before Legacy managed to get Shawn Michaels in the ring alone and locked the cage behind them. They worked over Michaels' knee for the duration of the match.
HHH eventually got in after deciding to get bolt cutters following 10 unsuccessful minutes of attempting to get in the cage. Michaels took a beating the entire match and will be sore Monday. As always, he was awesome. DX locked DiBiase out of the cage and beat on Rhodes, including a flying Michaels elbow while Rhodes' neck was in a chair. The end came when Michaels hit a superkick at the same time HHH used a sledgehammer with Michaels pinning Rhodes. DiBiase also got superkicked post-match.
