Summer Rae Injury: Updates on WWE Star's Neck, Back, Elbow and Return

Summer Rae to be Re-evaluated in October

Summer Rae's last match on Raw came in a defeat to Becky Lynch on July 4. According to the Internet Wrestling Database, she wrestled six more times outside of WWE's flagship show, with her most recent bout a tag team match on Aug. 14.

According to Satin, Summer Rae continued to compete despite being hurt, and it wasn't until she received MRI results detailing the full extent of the damage that she stepped away from the ring.

On Monday, the 32-year-old sent a photo of herself wearing a traction device around her neck on Snapchat. She tweeted about the photo for clarification:

Unlike some of her colleagues, Summer Rae hasn't been able to reap many of the benefits of WWE's increased emphasis on women's wrestling. Her injury comes as a bad time as well, since the brand extension has thinned the respective talent pools on Raw and SmackDown. 

WWE is unlikely to thrust Summer Rae immediately into the Raw Women's Championship picture when she's healthy enough to wrestle again, but the sooner she returns, the sooner she can start establishing herself as a genuine title threat.
