Arsenal Transfer News: Latest on Alexis Sanchez and Andrea Belotti Rumours

Stuart NewmanSep 17, 2016

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is reportedly still on the radar of Serie A champions Juventus.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato (via Aaron Flanagan of Daily Mirror), the Chile international was on Juve’s wishlist in the summer, and although they didn’t manage to secure his services, they’re still in the hunt for his signature.

Arsenal are set to sit down with Sanchez in the not-too-distant future and discuss his contract at the Emirates Stadium, yet his wage demands have gotten fans a little concerned.

John Cross of the Mirror wrote that the 27-year-old wants to become one of the highest earners in the Premier League with a £200,000 weekly salary.

Manager Arsene Wenger isn’t exactly known for splashing the cash, but Mirror Football jested that he'd make an exception for one of the club’s biggest stars:

If Arsenal can’t meet Sanchez’s demands, then Juventus will be waiting in the wings to give the forward exactly what he wants and lure him to Italy.

Elsewhere, the Gunners are set to do battle with Premier League rivals Liverpool for Torino star Andrea Belotti.

Calciomercato reported that the striker has been linked with many clubs around Europe, with Liverpool and Arsenal ready to launch serious bids in January (via Flanagan).

Despite landing Lucas Perez from Deportivo La Coruna in the summer, Arsenal fans are still desperately craving a prolific striker to lead the line.

Belotti may well be unproven with the best teams in the business, but at just 22 years of age, he certainly has the potential to go on to be a household name.

The Gunners are back in Premier League action on Saturday with a tricky trip to in-form Hull City.
