Tyler's College Basketball "Take Your Pick" Game: Introduction and Rules
Only a few more weeks and it will be College Basketball season. From the ACC to the Pac-10, Big East to the Big 12, everyone in the country can take great pride in their respective team. The stadiums will fill, the excitement will build with every passing minute, and even Dick Vitale will return to the ESPN team.
What else could be better?
Yes, I guess if you said March then you have a valid argument. However, November is the time when the college basketball season begins; how can you not already be hyped for the season?
Like I stated before, the season is only a few weeks from beginning. I began writing on Bleacher Report AFTER last year's college basketball season was over. Yes, I was upset that I had missed writing about my favorite time of the year.
However, I was excited that my Lakers were in the NBA Finals and had a great chance at winning the title. I know you are all thinking, "They had a great chance at winning? They did win the title!"
I do know that they won the title, and I was excited. I began writing on a more regular basis, however, during the NBA Finals. That's why I said they had a great shot at winning the title.
Anyways, getting back on the subject of the college game:
I would like to think that my expertise on the site can be traced to college basketball, the ACC country to be exact, and even Durham, NC, to be right on target. I was not given the opportunity to write articles in March last year, or even November at that, and I am deeply sorry.
This year, I will try not to dissapoint. I will try to cover most of the ACC games during the season, and would like to think that I would be able to cover two to three articles a week on the subject.
That is my goal, that is not a promise.
I can guarantee you all one thing, and that is that I will cover pretty much every Duke game that is played this year. If you are one of the Blue Devil faithful, then look no further than me for the latest scores and analysis for the Men in Blue.
I began thinking this afternoon that I should try and get the members of Bleacher Report involved in the college basketball season. No, I don't mean just trying to encourage you all to write articles about your favorite team.
Instead, I have tried to create a game that we can all play. I call it College Basketball "Take Your Pick" game. Basically, I will list 10 to 15 games each week in the form of an article. Once it is published, then you will have from that time until the start of the first game of the list to "take your pick".
You will get to test your knowledge of college basketball, but you will have to make sure the votes are cast BEFORE the start of the first game listed. (I will try to make sure and include game start times next to each game listed).
I realize that BabyTate does his "Baby's Losers..." article each week, and that gave me the idea. You guys let me know, but I'm pretty sure B/R hasn't done anything like that in the past for college basketball.
I feel as if it will draw more people to the College Basketball Domain of the site. There is a big college basketball preview that Jameson Fleming is in the process of working on, but other than that there is not a whole lot going on with college basketball on the site.
I have written numerous Duke articles the past few weeks, along with Justin McTeer, but that's been about it for college basketball in general. I do understand, however, that once the season begins other writers will begin taking part in writing NCAA-Basketball related articles.
This is pretty much the introduction article to the "Take Your Pick" college basketball game, make sure to let me know if you would like to take part in the game by leaving your interest in the comment section below. If I don't get enough people who would like to be involved, then I just won't worry with it.
I hope you all would take some interest in the game though. It won't take too much time out of our always busy schedules, and it would bring us closer together as a B/R family.
Once again, if you would like to take part, make sure to let me know before the season begins. Also, if you have any other questions, comments or concerns, make sure to send me a PM or an email to: tblamb2you2@yahoo.com.
You may ask: "How Do I Win?"
My answer: "Take Your Pick"
