Latest on Ward's Playing Status
Tuesday, Sept. 13
Ward has been cleared to play against the Cincinnati Bearcats on Thursday, per Joseph Duarte of the Houston Chronicle.
Ward Must Remain Healthy for Houston to be Contender
Certainly, Houston's season potentially hinges on Ward staying healthy. The Heisman hopeful threw for 2,828 yards and 17 touchdowns last season while adding 1,108 yards and 21 more touchdowns on the ground. In Houston's 33-23 upset of Oklahoma, he was excellent, throwing for 321 yards and two touchdowns.
While Kyle Postma performs well in a backup capacity, Houston's playoff aspirations hang squarely on Ward's shoulder and legs.
