Fantasy Football Week 10: Wednesday's Daily Fantasy Market Report
The election is finally over—I think we can all agree that we're happy to see it go.
Week 10 of the fantasy football season is just around the corner, and throughout the week, we get updates on players as well as new updates that sometimes feel like they come out of nowhere.
This Thursday, we get to see the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens—man, is that game going to be brutal.
Here, we will tackle some key running backs and their injuries.
Let's get going.
Saints RBs Mark Ingram and Tim Hightower to Continue Splitting Carries
1 of 7
According to Mike Triplett of ESPN.com, New Orleans Saints running backs Mark Ingram ($5,400 DraftKings; $6,300 FanDuel) and Tim Hightower ($4,600 DK; $6,200 FD) will likely continue to split carries.
In Week 9, Ingram was out-snapped and out-touched by Hightower 36-33 and 24-17, respectively, with both scoring touchdowns.
It looked like a genius move by Saints head coach Sean Payton, but come on now—they went up against the San Francisco 49ers.
In Week 10, the Saints will host the Denver Broncos, and although they are known for their ferocious defense, they have given up more than 160 rushing yards per game over the last three games.
Based off price discrepancies, I'm going to look toward Ingram here—he's just a better back.
Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald DNP Tuesday
2 of 7
Totally chose this news bit just to do this:
According to Mike Jurecki of Fox Sports 910, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald ($7,600 DK; $7,200 FD) was not seen at practice on Tuesday with an ankle injury.
Fitzgerald will play. He's great. The Cardinals are facing the 49ers.
Enough said.
Seahawks Rule RB Thomas Rawls out in Week 10
3 of 7
Death, taxes and Seattle Seahawks running back Thomas Rawls not playing football.
According to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, Rawls will not suit up in Week 10 with his fibula injury.
Another week without Rawls and another week of fairly mediocre running back play. Yeah, fellow running back Christine Michael has two touchdowns over his last three games, but he's only averaging around 10 carries a game and three yards per carry.
If Rawls were to return, he'd have a chance to take over the starting job given the state of the backfield.
Going up against the New England Patriots in Week 10, I'll pass on Michael this week, too.
We're Still Doing This: Steelers TE Ladarius Green Has 'A Chance to Play'
4 of 7
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Ladarius Green has "a chance to play" in Week 10.
Actually, no, you know what? I'm not dealing with this carousel of "a chance to play" and all that nonsense with Green.
Hey, Ladarius—if you play, cool. If you don't, cool. Get better soon, but man, has this whole Green hype train crashed and burned into smithereens.
*Screams loudly*
Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick Expects to Start Week 10
5 of 7
New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick at less than 100 percent sounds like a fun idea that I'm going to flee the country for because I'm absolutely terrified of watching this unfold.
According to Ed Werder of ESPN, Fitzpatrick could still start in Week 10 despite an MCL sprain.
This just sounds brutal and like a disaster waiting to happen.
The Jets draw the Los Angeles Rams this week. The Rams give up the 10th-fewest passing yards to opposing quarterbacks this season.
The only Jets player I'm into this week is wide receiver Brandon Marshall ($6,900 DK; $7,100 FD) due to the targets he still somehow manages. With that said, it would be nice to see a touchdown from Marshall. You know, that thing he hasn't gotten since Week 5.
Chiefs RB Spencer Ware
6 of 7
"Good chance." "Has a chance."
We need to delete these responses on players' availability from head coaches' repertoire of cliches.
According to Blair Kerkhoff of the Kansas City Star, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid used the former of the two cliches listed above when describing running back Spencer Ware's ($6,700 DK; $7,300 FD) availability for Week 10.
If Ware plays, he'll draw a difficult Carolina Panthers run defense that gives up under 80 rushing yards per game (third-fewest in the league) to opposing running backs.
With wide receiver Jeremy Maclin potentially ruled out and quarterback Alex Smith joining Ware in their first week back, Ware could see a few extra touches, but I'll look elsewhere.
Buccaneers RB Jacquizz Rodgers 'Long Shot' to Play
7 of 7
Now "long shot" is a good cliche to use when describing players' availability.
According to Jenna Laine of ESPN, Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Jacquizz Rodgers is still in a walking boot and is considered a "long shot" to play in Week 10 against the Chicago Bears.
The Buccaneers are thin at running back. If Rodgers sits, they'll rely on fellow running backs Peyton Barber, Mike James and the newly acquired Russell Hansbrough.
If Rodgers does suit up, he'll get the run as the lead back against a Bears run defense that gives up slightly over 100 rushing yards per game but ranks 19th in the league in that category.
It doesn't sound like Rodgers will play, and because of his price, I'll look at Barber in guaranteed prize pools.
