Before Big E's return, celebrity Jon Stewart helped distract The Club. Stewart also took part in the post-match celebration, via WWE:

But in the end, Big E was able to get his revenge on The Club, via SummerSlam's Twitter account:
After getting drafted to Raw, The New Day became the top target of several of WWE's best tag teams, but Gallows and Anderson first set their sights on the triumvirate of Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E.
In July, the former Club members interrupted The New Day's celebration on Raw by jumping them, which reignited a previous feud that never reached a proper conclusion.
While that served as a warning shot to The New Day, the bad blood between the two groups reached another level the following week, when Gallows and Anderson put Big E out of commission with the use of the ring post, as WWE showed:
Rather than allowing their handy work to speak for itself, Gallows and Anderson continued to push the envelope by bragging on WWE programming and social media:
The former IWGP tag team champions even took a page out of The New Day's book by cracking jokes and dressing up as doctors in an effort to mock Big E.
That only served to fire up Kingston and Woods, which prompted them to demand a match against Gallows and Anderson at SummerSlam and accept the added stipulation that the tag titles would be on the line.
While there is no denying The New Day's talent level as a team and individuals, they had always enjoyed strength in numbers leading up to SummerSlam, which Gallows and Anderson looked to take out of the equation by injuring the biggest, strongest member of the group.
That made The New Day the underdogs Sunday for one of the first times since they became the tag champs.
The establishment of that dynamic made for an entertaining match and allowed the fans to get behind The New Day, creating a great atmosphere at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. However, they still needed Big E to bail them out.
Both teams combined to put on a solid match that reflected positively on the WWE Tag Team Championship, and in the end, The New Day added even more prestige to the titles by extending their record-breaking reign.
After Sunday's finish, it seems as though this feud will continue, but with teams like Enzo Amore and Big Cass, Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens, and The Dudley Boyz on Raw, there is no shortage of potential title contenders.
Regardless, The New Day remain the class of the division.
