San Francisco Giants' Buster Posey Slides into 3rd Base Face First

Sometimes being a professional athlete means sacrificing your body.

In Buster Posey's case, that commitment to the game meant sliding into third base face first. 

Off came the San Francisco Giants catcher's helmet came as he ungracefully dove for the dirt, exposing his face to a few scrapes.

But who's to really say it wasn't exactly as he drew it up? He was ruled safe after all.
