Phillies' Cameron Rupp Smashes Home Run into Petco Park Palm Tree

They say to swing for the fences.

Cameron Rupp did one better. He swung for the palm tree.

While away at Petco Park, the Philadelphia Phillies catcher blasted a home run off San Diego Padres pitcher Christian Friedrich—possibly injuring some foliage in the process.

The ball traveled well beyond 396 feet, bouncing directly off the tree and away from fans.

An impressive show of strength? Sure.
