Home Plate Umpire Ejects Fan from Giants-Phillies Game for Heckling Him

Kyle NewportAug 3, 2016

Players and coaches (or managers) routinely have to deal with fans heckling them during games, but usually they just brush off the loudmouths to avoid any trouble.

Apparently, being an umpire gives you power over not just the game but the crowd as well.

During Tuesday night's game between the San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park, there was apparently a Phillies fan who was giving home plate umpire Bob Davidson the business.

Well, rather than sit there and take it the rest of the game, Davidson had the fan ejected in the top of the sixth inning.

Enough was enough.

As Andrew Joseph of For The Win noted, this isn't the first time Davidson has ejected a fan from a game. Better watch your mouth around him!
