Ivan Nova Reportedly Traded to Pittsburgh Pirates

Timothy RappJul 25, 2016

The New York Yankees reportedly parted ways with starting pitcher Ivan Nova on Monday, trading him to the Pittsburgh Pirates, according to Jon Heyman of Today's Knuckleball.

Nova, 29, has been inconsistent this year. Overall, he's gone 7-6 with a 4.90 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 75 strikeouts.

The Yankees' season has been equally inconsistent, and the team finds itself fourth in the American League East and sixth in the wild-card standings. That has led the team to sell off assets such as Aroldis Chapman, Andrew Miller and Carlos Beltran.
