Ovechkin and The Caps Roll Over The Bruins!
You do not need to be a Washington Capitals fan to love watching Alex Ovechkin play. With last night’s season opener against the Boston Bruins, Ovechkin scored two goals and an assist, as the Caps walked all over the Bruins.
It did not take long to see that only one team was ready to play. Washington Capitals Brooks Laich scored the first goal of the game 2:45 seconds into the first period. Both teams had tens shots on goal in the first period.
Boston posed no offensive threat what so ever throughout the game. It was clearly obvious what was missing here in Boston. With Phil Kessel traded and David Krejci , who looked good with a scoring chance, but was clearly still nursing his hip surgery this off season. The bruins were shut down in the second and third period as they totaled only seven shots on goal in the second and three shots on goal in the third.

Although Patrice Bergeron scored a goal in the third period, the Bruins were out played, out checked, and outscored as the Caps strolled to a 4-1 victory.
Tim Thomas did not look good at all and the Bruins as a whole looked flat. Although it was only the first game of the season, it was obvious that the Bruins need Krejci completely healthy. He is a key player to the Bruins offense.
Boston hosts Carolina Saturday and I am sure they will be more prepared and ready to play.
Washington’s over all play looked superb. Ovechkin started where he left off last season, showing why he is the greatest player in today’s era of Hockey. The caps will be a serious threat this season! As Ovechkin takes one more step to becoming one of the greatest players in Hockey history, and one more step to winning Lord Stanley’s Cup.
The Caps will be hosting the Maple Leafs on Saturday. Expect them to go 2-0 for this should be an easy win for the much more talented Caps.
