German Tennis Championships 2016: Friday Scores, Results, Updated Draw Schedule
Philipp Kohlschreiber made a nightmarish exit from the 2016 German Tennis Championships on Friday after falling to Argentina's Renzo Olivo 1-6, 6-0, 7-5, and failing to clinch his place in the semi-finals.
Oliva's reward for the upset result is a last-four meeting against Pablo Cuevas, who throttled Paul-Henri Mathieu in straight sets 7-6(7), 6-1 to book his place in the Hamburg competition's last four.
Stephane Robert surprised eighth-seed Guillermo Garcia-Lopez to edge his way into the last four, too, after surviving a second-set assault from his Spanish foe.
Martin Klizan or Daniel Gimeno-Traver will be the last to take their spot in the semi-finals, with the pair scheduled to collide in Friday's evening fixture.
Read on for a roundup of Friday's results, complete with a recap of the day's events and a look to the upcoming schedule.

Recap
Fans saw the very best along with the very worst of Kohlschreiber on Friday, where the German fell away in dramatic fashion to seal a near-incomprehensible loss to Olivo.
Olivo won just 11 of the 30 return points he faced in the first set, according to Flashscores, but the Argentinian responded with a stellar performance in the second set, per Tennis TV:
Kohlschreiber came up against a tougher challenge in the third set and led 5-3 at one point before surrendering four games in succession to topple out of the competition.
The No. 1 seed missed out on two match points as Oliva staged his surging comeback, and tennis writer Billy Owens hailed the 24-year-old's terrific turnaround:
Earlier in the day, Cuevas needed just one hour and 20 minutes to overcome Mathieu in their quarter-final clash, when the former followed up a close opening set with a dominant 6-1 decider.
Tennis TV provided a breakdown of the first set's statistics, where the Uruguayan emerged victorious in a tiebreak after Mathieu's advances to the net appeared not to have the desired effect:
Third-seed Cuevas displayed fine form en route to his semi-final meeting with tournament favourite Kohlschreiber, and the South American can afford to feel upbeat about his chances should he make it to the final.
Later on Friday, Robert recovered from a mid-match lull to defeat Garcia-Lopez 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-3 in Hamburg, where the Spaniard threatened to capitalise upon his opponent's high unforced-error count:
In Friday's final Hamburg fixture, Klizan will hope to complete the semi-final lineup when he goes up against Spain's Gimeno-Traver.
The Slovakian will come up against Robert in the next round if he manages to make it through the quarter-finals, with Gimeno-Traver hoping to blossom on his favoured clay surface.
