Wimbledon 2016 Results: Monday Winners, Scores, Stats and Singles Draw Update
Andy Murray and Roger Federer each booked their places in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon 2016 on Monday, where they defeated respective fourth-round opponents Nick Kyrgios and Steve Johnson.
Murray advanced to the tournament's last eight for the ninth consecutive year after beating Australian Kyrgios, 7-5, 6-1, 6-4. He'll face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarters after Richard Gasquet retired in the first set of their clash due to a back injury.

Earlier in the day, Federer hammered his way past Johnson with a straight-sets 6-2, 6-3, 7-5 victory, making Wimbledon's last eight for a remarkable 14th time in his career as a result.
Tomas Berdych and Jiri Vesely will be forced to decide a victor in their fixture another day after seeing their Monday match suspended at two sets apiece due to a lack of light.
Injury saw Kei Nishikori's tournament end as he retired at one set down to Marin Cilic, who will go up against Federer in the next round, while Sam Querrey's run continued with a 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-4 win over Nicolas Mahut.

In the women's competition, Serena Williams beat Svetlana Kuznetsova, 7-6, 6-0, and will face Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the quarter-finals after the Russian confidently defeated Coco Vandeweghe, 6-3, 6-3.
Older sister Venus Williams also advanced to the last eight following her shock 7-6(3), 6-4 win over Carla Suarez-Navarro, while Angelique Kerber and Simona Halep beat respective opponents Misaki Doi and Madison Keys to progress.
No. 3 seed Agnieszka Radwanska also made a surprise exit from the competition after she dropped to a 6-3, 5-7, 9-7 defeat against Slovakia's Dominika Cibulkova.

Recap
Seldom has there been a more clinical performance from No. 2 seed Murray. He cruised past a stammered Kyrgios, who struggled to keep his cool after opening their clash with a closely fought first set.
In fact, Metro's Dave Gurney questioned whether this might have been Murray at this best, and despite all the Australian's promise and potential for flair, Kyrgios' rebuttal just wasn't enough to advance:
Kyrgios was defiant to the end, though, and managed to save two match points on his own serve just prior to Murray serving out for the victory after a varied and versatile display.
With Novak Djokovic out of the running, the likes of Murray and Federer have a superb chance at Wimbledon glory this year, and the Swiss icon was also at his best against Johnson, per BBC 5 Live Sport:
Federer thundered past Johnson in a straight-sets triumph in what proved to be a one-sided affair, but the same couldn't be said for the five-set thriller between Milos Raonic and David Goffin.
Goffin clinched a two-set lead before easing off the gas pedal, and Raonic, hoping to thrive under new coach John McEnroe, recovered in style to book a 4-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 result.
The Canadian will face No. 28 seed Querrey in the quarter-finals after the American followed up his sensational win over Djokovic with a fourth-round victory over Nicolas Mahut, where he won 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-4.
Querrey's run at Wimbledon 2016 has surprised the field, and so too has 22-year-old Lucas Pouille's progress after he beat Bernard Tomic, 6-4, 4-6, 3-6, 6-4, 10-8, on Monday. As pointed out by the official Wimbledon Twitter account, the French youngster is defying his own odds on grass this year:
It was unfortunate to see injuries play such a large role on Monday, too, as both Nishikori and Gasquet were forced out of the competition, gifting Cilic and Tsonga their places in the last eight.
In the women's contest, both Williams sisters advanced to the quarters, but tennis writer Carole Bouchard highlighted the roof controversy that saw favourite Serena threaten to sue Wimbledon during her clash with Kuznetsova:
Nevertheless, the younger Williams sibling blazed her path into the last eight and was the only player on Monday to record an unanswered set victory, setting up a quarter-final draw opposite Pavlyuchenkova.
Kerber and Halep were among the other top seeds to take their spots in the next stage, but No. 3 seed Radwanska saw her tournament end following a shock loss to Cibulkova, who cast an emotional figure following her win:
At the grand old age of 36, elder sister Venus made history following her surprise win over Suarez Navarro, according to the Women's Tennis Association.
Venus will face Yaroslava Shvedova in the quarters after the Kazakh contender dominated Lucie Safarova ,6-2, 6-4, with Russia's Elena Vesnina the only other unseeded player in the last eight.
