Michael Saunders Smashes Way to Hat Trick, Drives in 8 Runs

Not one, not two, but three. 

That's the number of home runs the Toronto Blue Jays' Michael Saunders smashed over the wall during Friday night's 13-3 rout of the Baltimore Orioles.

The left fielder cemented the first hat trick of his career, nearly a four-homer game if not for a run stolen by Hyun Soo Kim, in a tremendous way.

To put Saunders' powerhouse performance into perspective, his contributions at the plate alone accounted for eight of Toronto's scores—almost three times as many as the entire Orioles lineup.

Perhaps even more impressive? Despite being on the road at Camden Yards, a fair share of hats still flew onto the field in salute.
