Hideki Matsui Celebrates 42nd Birthday with 2nd-Deck Shot on Old-Timers' Day
Kyle NewportJun 12, 2016
Hideki Matsui turned 42 years old Sunday, but make no mistake about it: There is still plenty of pop left in Godzilla's bat.
The New York Yankees held their 70th annual Old-Timers' Day at Yankee Stadium, giving former star players a chance to come back to the Bronx. On this day, the birthday boy was the star of the show.
After 194-game winner David Cone threw his first pitch behind the 2009 World Series MVP, Matsui—who hit 140 home runs in seven seasons with the Yankees—sent the next pitch into the second deck beyond the right field wall.
