WWE Rumors: Buzz on Road to WWE Money in the Bank 2016 for Week of June 10

Aaron BowerJun 10, 2016

With the immediate impact of NXT TakeOver: The End still being felt and the company's brand split now a matter of just weeks away, the destination of some of the company's big stars is on the agenda with this week's rumor roundup.

There's also an insight into the new star on the main roster who is attracting popularity backstage, as well as a big name who is being linked with an appearance at next year's WrestleMania 33, which is admittedly still a ways away.

Here's what's dominating the internet this week when it comes to WWE conjecture and rumor.

Luke Gallows Popular Backstage

His booking alongside Karl Anderson since the duo arrived in WWE has been far from ideal, but it hasn't stopped Luke Gallows from attracting plenty of fans backstage.

PWInsider Elite (h/t WrestlingInc) notes that Gallows isn't just a popular guy—he's on the verge of becoming one of the most popular stars on the entire roster backstage.

The report mentions that with the real trepidation backstage about people losing their jobs, Gallows is earning rave reviews for the humor and feeling he's bringing to the locker room.

Whether this gives him any leeway regarding a push alongside Anderson remains to be seen. The duo is scheduled to compete for the tag titles at Money in the Bank, and with AJ Styles turning heel, The Club looks set for a bright future.

Maybe Gallows' impact on the rest of the locker room has played a part in that. But his reputation alongside Anderson is growing among his peers.

NXT Stars Moving Up for Brand Split?

Fans were speculating over what the name of NXT's latest TakeOver show meant, assuming "The End" referred to Samoa Joe and Finn Balor's rivalry.

But an interesting report from this week notes that WWE is looking at even more stars for a move to the main roster, probably alongside Balor.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Lords of Pain) notes that after Triple H said in a media call this week he isn't sure how the brand split will impact NXT, it's actually likely to mean that a large number of stars could move to the main roster to make the brand split and extension work.

The obvious question after reading that report is: Which stars are in line for a move up? That's not clear yet, but after losing the tag titles Wednesday night, perhaps American Alpha is set for a promotion.

Balor seems certain to join the team, and it could even be the time for Bayley to make the leap up, although she probably has one more feud with Asuka in her yet.

Either way, it's interesting to keep an eye on which stars make the move next month.

WWE Wants Ronda Rousey for WrestleMania?

WWE fans will remember Ronda Rousey's cameo alongside The Rock at WrestleMania 31, and with WWE and UFC doing plenty of cross-promotion lately, it seems Rousey is in line for another appearance at the biggest pay-per-view of the year.

A report from Forbes (h/t WrestlingInc) says that WWE "is looking to angle the Brock Lesnar UFC fight to potentially get Rousey on WrestleMania."

Whether she is actually being considered for a match or another cameo remains to be seen. With Lesnar fighting at UFC 200 and then returning for SummerSlam, expect something similar to potentially happen with Rousey.

She could come back to WWE and have an angle with Stephanie McMahon again, but this would mean Rousey being a predominant part of WWE TV on the road to WrestleMania.

Irrespective of that, though, having Rousey on the books for WrestleMania 33 is a major coup for WWE if it can pull the deal off.
