Astros Put Rookie Tyler White's Car in the Outfield During Batting Practice
Thomas DuffyJun 5, 2016
Rookie hazing is never fun.
Houston Astros first-year first baseman Tyler White learned that the hard way Saturday. Before Houston beat the Oakland Athletics, 6-5, Astros veterans decided to park White’s shiny Range Rover in center field.
During batting practice.
As Allyson Footer of MLB.com noted, Carlos Gomez drilled the roof of the car. White, understandably, didn't seem pleased:
"Just a nice joke," star pitcher Dallas Keuchel told Footer. "Rookies get the brunt of a lot of jokes, myself included when I was a rookie. It's just all fun and games."
For White, hopefully it doesn’t get much worse than this.
