The Djoker—who has reached the final in Paris in three of the last four years, only to lose each timeneeds only the French Open to complete the full set. If he wins here, he'll hold all four majors concurrently.

Djokovic and Murray Chase History

The pair will now have met in all four finals. The Scot won their meetings at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open, while the Djoker came out on top in all four of their encounters in the Australian Open.

Murray eliminated defending champion Stanislas Wawrinka on Friday in the semi-finals, overcoming the Swiss star in four sets.

BBC Sport's Russell Fuller hailed his impressive efforts:

Indeed, the two-time Grand Slam winner has shown a dramatic improvement on clay in the last two years, per ESPN's Carl Bialik:

Per BBC Sport, despite his improving record on the surface, he admitted the final had been something of a pipe dream. "I'm extremely proud," said Murray. "I never expected to reach the final here, I always struggled on the clay. I hope I can put on a good match on Sunday."

After withstanding an early barrage from his opponent, Murray rarely looked anything other than firmly in control of the contest and reacted strongly to dropping the third set.

Roland Garros captured some of the 29-year-old's sumptuous play:

Murray handily beat Djokovic the last time the two met, winning 6-3, 6-3 in the final of the Rome Masters earlier this year—on clay, which is an even more promising omen for him.

However, winning on Sunday will still be difficult, as facing Djokovic in a Grand Slam final is a different prospect.

BreatheSport revealed his incredible run of wins in major tournaments:

He swept aside Dominic Thiem in straight sets on Friday, which impressed tennis writer Hannah Wilks:

As always, Murray must overcome the Serbian's almost unmatched athleticism and clinical play if he's to come out on top.

Of course, the Scot is a magnificent athlete in his own right. Arguably no other male player can rival him for sheer tenacity, which makes Sunday's final so intriguing.

Djokovic has had the edge over Murray for some time in their Grand Slam meetings—the last time the latter beat him in a major was the 2013 Wimbledon final—and that could well see him thrive in the French capital, but he'll need to work for his victory.

Prediction: Djokovic wins in four sets.
