French Open 2016 Schedule: Tuesday Matches Cancelled Due to Weather
Another day of pouring rain meant just two French Open 2016 matches were finished on Tuesday before play was cancelled.
Samantha Stosur easily booked her quarter-final spot with a two-set win over Simona Halep, and Agnieszka Radwanska suffered a shock loss against Tsvetana Pironkova.
Pironkova won 12 of the final 15 games after struggling in the first set, booking her first-ever quarter-final spot in the process. As shared by Record's Jose Morgado, Radwanska and Halep both had choice words for the organisation after they were forced to play in difficult conditions:
They certainly had a point, as both the rain and persistent wind made it very difficult to play on Tuesday. A handful of matches were interrupted, including Novak Djokovic's contest with Roberto Bautista Agut, and several others didn't even get started, like Serena Williams' clash with Elina Svitolina.
Here's a look at the full results:
Women's Results
| Samantha Stosur (21) bt. Simona Halep (6) | 7-6 (7), 6-3 |
| Tsvetana Pironkova bt. Agnieszka Radwanska (2) | 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 |

Radwanska didn't shy away from the cameras after her shocking loss against Pironkova, via Ben Rothenberg of the New York Times:
And while it's easy to call the second seed a sore loser, she has a point. Halep and Radwanska both seemed to struggle more with the worsening conditions as their respective matches went on, and conditions got so bad, the French clay nearly stuck to the ball at one point.
Both the rain and the cold played their part, and after a solid opening set on Monday, Radwanska started making mistakes from the baseline she usually never makes on Tuesday.

Pironkova won nine straight games before Radwanska asked the trainer to have a look at her wrist, and just as she grabbed her first game, breaking for 4-1, the skies darkened once again.
Rothenberg wasn't shocked Radwanska and others had trouble with their wrists:
Halep also struggled in the rain, losing to Stosur in convincing fashion just two weeks after battering the Australian star in Madrid. But her opponent played some excellent tennis on Monday, despite the difficult conditions, and Halep told reporters she wasn't upset she lost.
Per WTA Insider, she gave her opponent full credit but did voice concerns she could have gotten injured.

There were similar scenes on the other courts as well. Ernests Gulbis and David Goffin played just three games before their match was suspended, and the Belgian complained about the conditions before a single point was played. He even got a code violation in the second game for slamming a ball out of the stadium.
Stosur and Pironkova will meet in the quarter-finals, and the rest of the field will have to wait until Wednesday to start or finish their round-of-16 clashes. Djokovic and Agut will likely start the day on Court Philippe Chatrier before Williams and Svitolina go to work. Andy Murray and Richard Gasquet are also scheduled to meet on Wednesday.
The 2016 French Open is quickly starting to run out of time following numerous rain delays, and unless the women's final is pushed back, it's likely the top players will have to start and finish a match every single day to stay on schedule.
