New World Order: WWE No Mercy Preview

Ron JohnsonOct 4, 2007

http://www.wwechamp.net/design/photos/RAW-RandyOrton-014.jpgJust when you thought it was safe to order a wrestling pay-per-view, the WWE unleashes No Mercy on the world.

With all three major championships on the line, you’re guaranteed a career-changing experience this Sunday in Chicago.

Here's the rundown of WWE's version of Oktoberfest.

Candice Michelle vs. Beth Phoenix for the Women's Championship

The Glamazon has been a dominating force in the women's division of the WWE, but her dominance will not be complete until she wears the gold around her waist. At Unforgiven, she was yet again denied as Michelle found a way to beat the Big Blond Machine.

Phoenix has been a wreck ever since that faithful night. It's kind of like seeing a hot Randy Orton with long blond hair.

In a way, Michelle is just prolonging the inevitable. Anyone who has seen this muscular vixen knows that she will sooner or later be wearing the Women's Championship around her waist.

I think this is the perfect time for her to establish her dominance, but her opponent is tenacious and resilient.

Result: Phoenix over Michelle

Finlay vs. Rey Mysterio (Fight vs. Flight Match)

It's the Irishman who loves to beat the snot out of people taking on the high flyer from the 619. This rivalry is renewed thanks to Finlay interfering in Mysterio's comeback tour.

On any other given day, this match could be going to the Guinness-drinking brawler. Unfortunately, without Hornswoggle, and with the refs watching him a lot more lately, Finlay just might have to fight his way out of the match.

As for Mysterio, he will have to use those high-flying moves in his arsenal and hope that he can keep Finlay down long enough to nail that 619/West Coast Pop combo.

Otherwise, Finlay will use any dirty tactic in, or out of, the book to make a statement. JBL could get involved to get a measure of revenge over the small fry from San Diego.

Result: Mysterio over Finlay via DQ

CM Punk vs. Big Daddy V for the ECW Championship

CM Punk spent the second half of the year trying to become the ECW Champion. However, John Morrison kept finding ways to win and retain the title.

On a faithful night in Cincinnati, Punk finally fulfilled his destiny in an ECW Do or Die Match on SciFi. Punk successfully defended the championship against Elijah Burke and the road looked like a possible rematch between the two at No Mercy.

Unfortunately, Tommy Dreamer's chance of facing Punk was shattered due to an impromptu addition to the Chase for the Championship Elimination tournament.

Big Daddy V has been a wrecking ball in the ECW ever since his arrival. From decimating three superstars at a time to destroying the likes of the Boogeyman and Tommy Dreamer, V has his sights set on claiming the ECW Title.

If anyone wants to feel bad for Punk, this is the perfect match to make it happen in. Honestly, I see no logical way for Punk to retain the championship against the massive behemoth known as Big Daddy V. So with that being said...

Result: Big Daddy V over CM Punk

Triple H vs. Umaga

The King of Kings makes his third appearance at a pay-per-view match since his return from Quad surgery earlier this year.

The Samoan Bulldozer makes his return from the brutal bloody beat down that he received from The Game earlier in September.

Triple H has been a thorn in the side of the Chairman ever since his return at Summerslam. With the help of Carlito, McMahon has been able to get the upper hand on him the last few weeks.

Expect this to be a knock-down, drag-out brawl between all four of these men. Rest assured, there will be some cheap tactics in this match. However, a simple Pedigree and maybe a couple of visits from the sledgehammer will ensure victory for the Cerebral Assassin. In the end...

Result: Triple H over Umaga

Punjabi Prison Match for the World Heavyweight Championship

Take the Hell In A Cell, Elimination Chamber, Steel Cage, and TNA's Six Sides of Steel; mix them together in a huge blender; and serve bloody and brutal.

That's what you get when you think about what a Punjabi Prison Match is.

This match will make an appearance for only the second time in WWE history. It's the Punjabi Giant, The Great Khali, taking on the animal, Batista, for the richest prize in the industry.

Khali has been dominating the SmackDown roster ever since he was drafted a few months ago. In his first title defense, he defeated both Kane and Batista in a triple threat match. At Unforgiven, he lost the title to Batista in a triple threat match that included Rey Mysterio.

Ever since then, the Punjabi Nightmare has been on a warpath in a quest to regain the World Championship. Unfortunately, the Animal has proven that he can be just as dangerous when unleashed.

Batista has knocked down the Giant on several occasions, but rest assured, this match isn't about victory. This is about survival.

FYI, the Undertaker defeated the Big Show in the first Punjabi Prison Match, and even got a few shots in on the Great Khali as well.

Result: Batista survives Punjabi Prison Match

WWE Championship Match

This was originally supposed to be a Last Man Standing Match between John Cena and Randy Orton. Sadly, Cena suffered a severe injury that will sideline him for close to a year.

Because of this, Vince McMahon had no other choice but to declare the WWE Championship vacant, but has assured the WWE fans that a new champion will be crowned at No Mercy.

Though the participants have not yet been named, WWE.com has been conducting a poll to see who fans would like to become champion this Sunday.

There isn't much to predict in a match with unknown participants. One participant will most likely be Orton due to the fact that he was the number one Contender prior to Cena's injury.

Expect surprises around every turn. One thing is guaranteed out of this match, though: A New WWE Champion will be Crowned at No Mercy.

Enjoy the weekend. We'll see you next week.
