Jerry Jones Comments on NFL Team Potentially Relocating to Las Vegas
The possibility of the NFL coming to Las Vegas seems like it's been growing more likely as the offseason has progressed, and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is a fan of the idea.
According to a Wednesday report by Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Jones is "in favor" of a team in Las Vegas, as he said "the entertainment aspect outweighs gambling concerns."
While the idea of the NFL heading to Sin City has gained some serious momentum this past year, three years ago, relocation to Nevada seemed far-fetched. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told Allan Snellas of the Las Vegas Review-Journal in 2013 that the league wouldn't stage any events at the city's proposed "$800 million to $900 million" domed stadium because of gambling.

But league Commissioner Roger Goodell told The Rich Eisen Show in February (via John Breech of CBSSports.com) that "ultimately, it's the ownership's decision."
Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis has expressed his desire to move his team to Las Vegas, pledging $500 million to a new $1.4 billion stadium, per Tim Dahlberg of the Associated Press.
The NFL on ESPN broke down the financing for the new stadium:
Las Vegas mayor Carolyn Goodman added on ESPN Radio's Capital Games podcast on Tuesday that she is confident that her city will be getting the Raiders
If it comes down to persuading league owners, Davis said he'll "give them an offer they can't refuse," per Dahlberg.
The Raiders are currently playing in the Oakland Coliseum, one of the more rundown venues in the league, and they will pay $3.5 million in 2016 to play there, per David DeBolt and Rebecca Parr of the Bay Area News Group.
So if Davis is serious about moving the Raiders to Las Vegas and is able to jump through all of the hoops laid out by the league, it seems he'll have at least one big supporter in Jones, who could help sway the decision in Davis' favor.
