Under Armour, 'NBA 2K' to Max Out MVP Stephen Curry's Game Rating for 30 Hours
Back in February, Mike Wang, the gameplay director for NBA 2K, revealed to Forbes' Ben Sin that he and his team were struggling to do Stephen Curry justice.
Now, after the real-life Curry was named the NBA's MVP for the second year in a row, the virtual Curry will get a boost.
Under Armour posted the above clip Tuesday, following the Golden State Warriors star's award ceremony. It said that for 30 hours, Curry's overall in-game rating will rise from 95 to 99, making him the greatest shooter in the history of the game.
According to ESPN's Darren Rovell, the jump will start at 6 p.m. ET on Thursday.
Under Armour's clip said it best: "Finally, video-game Stephen will be as remarkable as real-life Stephen."
Update: May 14
The Under Armour pitch was spot-on. Video-game Steph really did turn out as remarkable as real-life Steph.
The back-to-back MVP did gamers a solid with his maxed-out 2K rating, hitting shots with ease from ridiculous range:
