Roberto Aguayo to Buccaneers: Trade Details, Twitter Reaction in 2016 NFL Draft
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded up to No. 59 overall in the second round of the NFL draft Friday evening to select Florida State Seminoles kicker Roberto Aguayo.
After the team announced it sent the Kansas City Chiefs its third- and fourth-round picks to select a kicker, the move predictably produced some glorious reactions on Twitter:
Not only was the move largely considered a puzzling one, but Bleacher Report's Matt Miller also noted that selecting a kicker inside the top 64 picks was a negligent decision:
Optimum Scouting's Eric Galko concurred:
However, NFL Network's Charley Casserly wasn't opposed to the Bucs investing in a kicker early in the selection process:
Meanwhile, retired kicker Jay Feely had mixed feelings about the pick:
Here's a look at the best of the remaining takes:

Aguayo became the first kicker to be selected in the second round since the New York Jets splurged on Mike Nugent with the 47th pick in the 2005 draft, but it's not hard to see why the Bucs were intrigued by his talent.
According to Pro Football Focus Draft on Twitter, Aguayo didn't miss a kick inside 40 yards during his three seasons at Florida State.
And since Tampa Bay watched Connor Barth and Kyle Brindza make just 82.1 and 50 percent of their field goals, respectively, last year, adding Aguayo should eliminate the special teams uncertainty and provide the Bucs with some peace of mind entering the 2016 season.
