Michael Thomas to Saints: Twitter Reacts as WR Is Selected in 2016 NFL Draft
Wide receiver is arguably the deepest position in the 2016 NFL draft, and the New Orleans Saints capitalized on that fact by snagging Ohio State wide receiver Michael Thomas at No. 47 overall Friday night.
Citing a source, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Thomas was the top-ranked receiver on the Saints' board all along.
Shortly after the pick was announced, the Saints made it clear they were thrilled to have one of the draft's most dynamic route-runners as a part of their receiving corps:

During his post-draft meeting with reporters, Thomas broke down the traits that will allow him to thrive at the next level, according to WWL-TV's Doug Mouton:
Thomas' college coach, Urban Meyer, confirmed the receiver always has his game face on, as the NFL's official Twitter account documented:
Thomas graded out as the top-ranked receiver on the big board of Bleacher Report's Matt Miller, and his ability to torment opposing defenses downfield drew a comparison to Houston Texans standout DeAndre Hopkins.
"Thomas' ability to stutter-step and set up cornerbacks with double moves is impressive for a big receiver," Miller wrote. "He knows how to vary his speed and can break down his hips to leave cornerbacks guessing and driving upfield while he's running by them."
With Marques Colston out of the picture in New Orleans and the Saints in need of a strong-handed receiver to complement Brandin Cooks, Thomas should be considered a breakout candidate so long as Drew Brees is under center.
