Reds CF Billy Hamilton Turns On the Jets, Lays Out for Run-Saving Catch vs. Mets
While the Cincinnati Reds are waiting for Billy Hamilton to figure things out at the plate, there's one thing they know they don't have to worry about with the speedster.
And that is his defense.
Hamilton—who was a shortstop until 2013—has been playing Gold Glove-caliber defense in center field since grabbing a starting job in the majors in 2014. On Tuesday night, he added yet another clip to his highlight reel.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
With one out in the bottom of the fifth inning and a runner on first, New York Mets catcher Kevin Plawecki hit a sharp liner to the gap in right-center field. Hamilton, the fastest player in the majors, got on his horse and tracked down the ball.
As fast as he is, Hamilton still needed a spectacular diving effort to make the play and keep the Reds' three-run lead intact.
Hamilton's great play kept the Mets off the board at the time, but not even he could prevent another late-inning collapse by Cincinnati. New York scored four runs in the seventh to pull out a 4-3 victory at Citi Field.
