Dele Alli Receives 3-Game Ban After Violent Conduct: Latest Details and Reaction
Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli has received a three-match ban for a charge of violent conduct after an incident with West Bromwich Albion’s Claudio Yacob on Monday, April 25.
The Football Association confirmed the news on Thursday via its official website:
"Dele Alli will serve a three-match suspension with immediate effect after he committed an act of violent conduct which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video.
The player accepted The FA's charge but contested that the automatic penalty of a three-match suspension would be ‘clearly excessive.'
This claim, however, was rejected following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today [Thursday 28 April 2016].

As reported by John Cross of the Daily Mirror, the youngster appeared to throw a punch at Yacob, and while the official didn’t spot the incident, the FA charged Alli with violent conduct based on TV replays.

The player took to Twitter to admit he made a mistake and said he will use his ban as a learning experience:
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino told reporters after Monday's match that Alli can be provoked by opponents, per BBC Sport: "Sometimes the opponents find him and try to provoke. They know he has a strong character and may react."
The 20-year-old was voted PFA Young Player of the Year on Sunday following a strong breakout campaign in which he became an England international and a vital cog in Spurs' midfield.
According to WhoScored.com, he scored 10 goals and added nine assists in this year's Premier League, impressive numbers for a central midfielder.
Spurs shared some of his top highlights this season via Twitter in honour of his award:
The three-match ban means Alli’s Premier League season is over, and the midfielder can now start his preparations for the upcoming UEFA Euro 2016 tournament beginning in June.
Tottenham chase league-leaders Leicester City by seven points and will play Chelsea, Southampton and Newcastle United during the final weeks of the season.
