Manchester United Transfer News: Latest on Neymar, Mats Hummels, Top Rumours
Barcelona star Neymar has told his father to "not listen to any offers in the coming months" in regards to a transfer, with Manchester United to said to be interested.
According to Tomas Andreu of Sport, despite the Red Devils, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid all being interested in the the Brazil international, he will sign a new contract with the La Liga giants that’ll be announced in the summer, with everything said to be “practically agreed.”
While the 24-year-old hasn’t been in the best form of late, the forward has enjoyed his best-ever goalscoring season after a blistering beginning to the campaign, per Sky Sports Statto:

Jack Wilson of the Daily Star reported that Neymar is a serious target at Old Trafford this summer, with a whopping £300 million available to spend. As well as the Barcelona man, chief executive Ed Woodward is also said to be an admirer of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
According to Wilson, Aubameyang is an “alternative option” to Ibrahimovic, whose contract expires at the end of the season. While the latter is a stationary, skilful forward, the Borussia Dortmund man is a dynamic striker:
Aubameyang certainly looks like a more realistic target than Neymar. It seems clear Barcelona want to tie their man down to a long-term deal despite the recent slump in form.
And while Barcelona have both Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, they aren’t going to be around forever; Neymar is very much the future of this football club. As ESPN FC’s Dermot Corrigan noted recently, he’s still adored by the club’s supporters:
Gabon international Aubameyang would be another expensive acquisition. In the past season-and-a-half he has evolved from a functional wide forward into a No. 9, excelling at the point of Thomas Tuchel’s Dortmund outfit.

He’s shone in the Bundesliga with Borussia, bagging 23 goals in 28 appearances. He’s also bagged plenty in Europe, per MisterChip:
United could certainly do with another forward to complement the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, especially if Wayne Rooney makes his midfield cameos more permanent. Aubameyang is a player who certainly ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to the quintessential Red Devils blueprint.
One Dortmund player who is unlikely to be moving to Old Trafford in the summer is Mats Hummels, with the club’s chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke revealing he’s likely to sign for Bayern Munich.
“I believe that if he (Hummels) goes, it will be in the direction of Munich,” he said to Sky Deutschland (h/t Sky Sports). “He still has unfinished business with the club. His father, his mother and his brother all live in Munich. His girlfriend comes from Munich, he's from Munich too—so a whole lot of components have already come together.”

The Independent’s Samuel Stevens said United were keeping tabs on Hummels’ situation in January. As noted by Archie Rhind-Tutt of BT Sport, it’d be a massive blow for Dortmund to lose him to their biggest rivals:
Elsewhere, Real Madrid reportedly plan to go back in for Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea this summer, especially if the club don’t qualify for the Champions League next season.
According to Sky Sports’ Guillem Balague, it’s long been Real’s intention to land the stopper, despite the stellar form of their own goalkeeper, Keylor Navas.

“[Navas] has been one of the heroes for Real but earlier this season, the plan was to go back for De Gea—especially if Manchester United don't finish in the top four,” he said.
The Spanish stopper has once again been the standout player for the Red Devils in an underwhelming campaign. His influence will be key to the club winning in the FA Cup final next month; his penalty save from Everton’s Romelu Lukaku in the semi-final helped United to a 2-1 win.
Here’s a reminder of the stop, per United’s Twitter feed:
Navas has been magnificent as of late for Real Madrid, helping fill the void left by Iker Casillas when he departed last summer.
United will want to keep hold of their star man for many more years to come. But after coming so close to joining Real last summer, it’d be a big surprise if Los Blancos didn’t come back in for the former Atletico Madrid man. If the player himself wants to move on, it’d be a tough ask to convince him to stay.
