Twitter Reacts to Tottenham's Disastrous Draw with West Brom
Tottenham went into Monday evening's match with West Brom knowing that a win would cut Leicester's lead at the top of the Premier League to five points, while guaranteeing them Champions League football. In light of the Baggies' recent performances, many regarded the game as a formality for the Lilywhites:

However, much to the chagrin of the Tottenham faithful, that's not quite how the evening panned out.
Before kick-off, it became clear that Saido Berahino was nowhere to be found in West Brom's squad, leading many to jump to certain conclusions:
"Berahino not on line up or bench. He's definitely coming to spurs

As the game kicked off and the first half progressed, the visitors were content to sit deep and absorb the pressure:
"73 minutes left.

Keep it up West Brom.
In the 33rd minute, Spurs finally made a breakthrough when Jan Vertonghen forced a clumsy Craig Dawson own goal:
West Brom weren't exactly winning plaudits for their performance:
"WEST BROM DESERVE TO GO DOWN WHAT A TERRIBLE FOOTBALL CLUB

In the second half, footage of Dele Alli apparently landing a punch on Claudio Yacob started to circulate:
"Think Dele Alli's season's over after tonight

West Brom came out revitalised in the second half. Not only did they break into the opposition half, but they threatened to score:

In the 73rd minute, that inevitable equaliser came, with Dawson getting his second of the evening—this time in the correct net:

Incredibly, it finished 1-1, dashing Spurs' title hopes and giving Leicester the chance to win the league at Old Trafford at the weekend:
