QB Carson Wentz: No. 1 overall, Los Angeles Rams
No one will know who the Los Angeles Rams are selecting with the No. 1 overall pick until they announce it on Thursday, but most have arrived at the conclusion that it will be California quarterback Jared Goff.
But could those rumors be a smokescreen? It's hard to see how the Rams could overlook Wentz, who is clearly a better fit for their offense than Goff.
Wentz played in a pro-style offense at NDSU and fits what the Rams do in their run-first scheme. Goff, on the other hand, operated almost exclusively out of the shotgun at Cal.
Sure, Goff consistently played against stronger competition in the FBS than Wentz faced in the FCS, but Wentz's ability to diagnose defenses and react translates seamlessly to the NFL.
On Tuesday, Andy Benoit of The MMQB published a session of "Inside the Film Room" with Wentz. Benoit called him "the most pro-ready QB to enter the NFL since Andrew Luck." That's not light praise.
The Rams are not risk-averse; their huge trade to rise to No. 1 overall in the draft proves that. Wentz may be riskier than Goff, but his ceiling is so high.
CB Jalen Ramsey: No. 4 overall, Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys could go a number of directions with the No. 4 overall pick, including defensive end Joey Bosa or running back Ezekiel Elliott if both are still on the board.
There's no question the Cowboys need a pass-rusher.
However, Dallas could make the secondary its biggest strength by targeting a defensive back here, and Ramsey could be the best overall prospect in the entire draft class.
That's not a bad player to land fourth overall.
"The thought of pairing Byron Jones with another world-class athlete on the perimeter could entice Jerry Jones to target this ultra-competitive defender," wrote NFL.com's Bucky Brooks in his most recent mock draft.
Ramsey also has experience at safety and at slot corner, which makes him a versatile impact player for Dallas' selection.
OT Laremy Tunsil: No. 3 overall, San Diego Chargers

When the Tennessee Titans held the No. 1 overall pick, Mississippi's Laremy Tunsil was looking at being the first prospect selected on Day 1 of the draft.
However, he could still pride himself on being the first non-quarterback taken off the board if the San Diego Chargers select him No. 3 overall.
That's just what NFL.com's Charles Davis sees them doing.
"Ultimately, Tunsil is the pick due to trying to win right now with QB Philip Rivers," Davis wrote in his most recent mock draft.
The Chargers could choose to strengthen their defense, especially after losing Eric Weddle in free agency.
But the window they have to make a Super Bowl with Rivers under center is closing, and shoring up their offensive line is an investment in the future of the franchise, as well.
