Tottenham vs. West Brom: Team News, Live Stream, TV Info, Ticket News

Sam RookeApr 24, 2016

Leicester City have stretched their lead with the 4-0 hammering of Swansea City. Tottenham now must beat West Bromwich Albion just to keep the pace.

The Baggies are in wretched form, but they have a strong recent record against Spurs and won this same fixture last season.

Spurs could be facing both a future and former teammate in the forms of Saido Berahino and Sandro, respectively, giving this fixture a little extra spice.

If Berahino were to score the goal to knock Spurs out of the title race, it would certainly create some headlines.

Team News

Tottenham remain virtually at full strength with only the long-term injury to Nabil Bentaleb keeping them short of a full complement.

Chris Brunt and James Morrison remain sidelined for the Baggies, while loanee Alex Pritchard is ineligible to face his parent club.

Players to Watch

Saido Berahino scored 20 goals last season and became Tottenham's top transfer target.

His well-publicised spat over the failure of his move to Spurs kept him out of the first team for much of this season, but he has started regularly since February.

He only has four Premier League goals in this campaign, but his pace and willingness to take any opportunity to test the opposition goalkeeper make him a constant threat.

With Tottenham likely to dominate possession and field position, Berahino will be West Brom's key attacking player.

Knowing he could be calling White Hart Lane home next season, he will be inspired to show his best.

Key Battle

Tottenham tore Stoke City apart with aggressive passing and running from midfield.

The deeper attacking players moved into the space beyond Harry Kane to create chaos in the Potters' back line.

With West Brom likely to set up deep with a view to counter-attack, the balance in this match will be a little different.

The key to this match will be Tottenham's ability to break through the Baggies' set defence which enables Christian Eriksen's creativity and the penetration of their full-backs.

Danny Rose and Kyle Walker will force West Brom to defend the wide areas, giving Eriksen the space to weave his magic.

If West Brom can shut down Eriksen and frustrate Spurs, they will have a good chance of scoring the hosts on the break.

Tottenham's key man will be, as ever, Harry Kane.

Kane has been the brightest star in a glittering Tottenham campaign, and his goals have given them their best chance at a league title in decades.

He's the league's top scorer this season, and with a hat-trick, he could catch Sergio Aguero's running two-season total of 48 goals.

Against an aggressive but flawed defence, Kane should shine and keep his team in the title hunt.

Odds

Spurs are 1-3 on favourites to win this match, while West Brom are 8-1 outsiders. There's little profit to be made on a Tottenham victory, but in their current form, it seems a safe bet.

A draw offers great value at around 3-1 but if Spurs arrive in the irresistible form that has characterised their last two Premier League matches, there's little chance of anything but a home win.
