Blackhawks vs. Blues: Game 5 Live Score, Highlights for 2016 NHL Playoffs
It's too soon for this series to end.
Patrick Kane's first goal of the playoffs kept the Chicago Blackhawks alive in their first-round playoff series against the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night at Scottrade Center, with a 4-3 double-overtime victory.
Facing elimination in a hostile environment, the Hawks were on their heels for large parts of the game. Two quick goals late in the second period, including a buzzer-beater by Artemi Panarin, gave them a 3-1 lead heading into the final 20 minutes of regulation, but a relentless Blues team pushed back to tie the game and force overtime in the third, on goals by Robby Fabbri and David Backes.

The first overtime solved nothing, then at the 3:07 mark of the second extra frame, Kane got the puck on Brian Elliott, then whirled behind the net and deposited the rebound into the open side of the cage for the game-winner. It's the fifth playoff overtime goal of Kane's career.
Final shots on goal were 46-35 for St. Louis in another outstanding game of high-quality hockey.
With St. Louis now holding a 3-2 series lead and the defending champion Blackhawks still facing elimination, the series now shifts back to Chicago on Saturday for Game 6.
